Deborah Lowen and Jan Natusch began The Practical Mystics of the Earth Centre for Contemporary Shamanism in 2007, shortly after Deborah’s return to Aoteoroa/ New Zealand. Together, their work has grown to become much more than the sum of its parts. Jan says. “it seems that as soon as we had set our intention, it grew with a life of its own” – as do all things when we come into alignment with spirit, open sacred space, let go of attachment to outcome – and stand back to watch what unfolds.

Journey of Grandmother Earth
For a long time now, we have been running workshops to tell you that the time has come for us to stop going to workshops, reading books, deferring to authority, giving away our power to those who say they know more than us.
Grandmother Earth has spoken - it is time NOW, for us to sit in Circle, to dream together, to pray together, to act together – to step up into our true nature as Guardians and Caretakers of the Universe and create the world we want the next 7 generations to inherit.
We have listened to Grandmother and to our Ancestors, and heard the message - that "we recognise no authority but that of our hearts, where Spirit lives within us...."
We NOW Walk this Road – no more workshops, no more teachers!
We will, together, open the way for spiraling into the power of our true natures, in Circle. We sit as Grandchildren of Papatuanuku, deferring to no authority but that of our hearts. We, and others in the Circle of the Grandmothers of Aotearoa will help us all to re-member. We will offer you the transmissions of the rites of passage. We will share our knowledge and experience of ceremony for ayni -sacred reciprocity, gratitude and the mulching of hucha -heavy energy, on the human person and on the land.
Together we remember who we really are and create a Spiral of power and love for the healing of all that is and all that will be.
There will be five sessions, each around a stage in the Earth walk of the Human Person. You can come to one, or two, or three or four or you can attend all five. There is no fee, but the magical Sharda Centre (Percy Graham Drive, Tuakau, Franklin) charges $10.00 for a day and $20.00 to stay overnight for each person. We will also be appreciative of any koha you can give us to fund future developments.
But, if you have no money, please come anyway, for money can always be found, and your soul’s purpose may need this Circle NOW!

We are living in a time of change faster and more powerful than humanity
has ever before experienced. We are in the Middle of the River flowing from
the mountain to the sea, to the new world that is dawning. Many are caught
up in the turbulence – global recession, financial crisis, unemployment,
changing expectations, broken dreams….
But to fight against the current is a waste of our gifts, and perhaps of
our lives.
To create the new world we must make direct, heartfelt and soulful change. We must listen to the River, flow with the River, until we know that -

The River is me
And then we may begin the journey into the new dawn, manifestating our gifts and our powers through our work.
For the only thing we can really make is our work. And our focused intention and deliberate action to produce the work of the hand, the mind, the heart and the imagination is what, in the end, remakes our world.
Everyone of us has the ability to change our lives, to manifest sustainable work that uses their gifts - through engaging in the processes of expansion of self-and other awareness, development of intuition and imagination, of the surrender of old fears and perceptions… and learning to listen to the River.
When these choices are made, then we transform – from people who are the helpless victims of circumstance to people who make choices from a strong, deep place of awareness of all that is around us and all that is within us… we create new ways of working, new careers, new ways to give-back our gifts to the Earth and all our relations.
Jan and Deborah have many years of experience of coaching and counseling hundreds of people from many different cultures and from a huge range of occupational backgrounds, who have made successful career transitions.

Jan Natusch
I
have been practicing shamanic journeying and healing for nearly 20 years,
and facilitating shamanic workshops for over 10 years. My teaching incorporates
various bodies of work, including The Foundation for Shamanic Studies (taught
by Sandra Ingerman) and the Tom Brown shamanic philosophies. I work in
ways that honour the cultural heritage of the person and the spirit of
the land.
I have completed NLP (Neurolinguistic Programming) training to Master Practitioner
level and use a blend of skills in my personal and group work.
Currently I work with helping people reach their potential in the world
of work as well as teaching shamanic studies. In my experience, when people embrace
shamanic principles they find their lives more fulfilling, more harmonious, and
more creative. My greatest pleasure is to help others find their own shamanic
paths and skills.

Deborah Lowen
I am a shamanic practitioner and a personal and professional
development coach who has helped many people to work with their own powers
and deep knowledge so that they sustain themselves and bring joy to others.
My post-graduate trainings are in counselling, teaching and career consultancy.
I have been honoured to work with extraordinary and wonderful shamanic teachers,
the best known being Alberto Villoldo and Leo Rutherford, but have also shamanised
and received initiations with Juan Nunez del Prado, Jose Luis Herrera, Don Americo
Yabar and the Q'ero elders of Peru . My true teacher is the Earth herself - and
everything that I learn, I pass on, so that all may step into their power, come
into sacred relationship with all that it, and play!
